Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Slow and Steady Wins the Race

Between Illy and Lavazza who is the winner?

Both of these brands dominate the Italian coffee market. Together they have 200 years of experience choosing and roasting beans. They would be my first choices to enter the world of Italian coffee. What is the difference between the two?

Illy is higher end. They use 100% arabica bean blends, with a more delicate and sweet coffee taste.

Lavazza uses a blend of arabica and robusta coffee beans. This brand is less expensive with a higher caffeine content. The flavors are dark and earthy and usually produce a thick layer of cream from the brewed coffee.

A great intro to Italian coffee culture. Use the Moka or the espresso machine to drink coffee like a real Italian.

Barista Diva also provides the option of these brands for the drip coffee machine and pods for your Keurig machine.
